Children's Swim Classes

Ages 5-12

Child Beginner - Beginner Level Class

Our Beginner program is divided into three stages: Beginner 1, Beginner 2, and Beginner 3. Students must successfully complete all three stages before advancing to the Intermediate level. Each stage is designed to build water safety awareness, introduce foundational self-rescue skills, and develop proper swimming technique. Swimmers will also begin preparing for side breathing, which becomes a key focus in the next level.

If your child is nervous in the water, that is completely normal. Our instructors are experienced in working with all comfort levels and will guide each swimmer at a pace that supports both confidence and progress. We prioritize meeting each child where they are while steadily building toward the skills they need to succeed.

This class includes two required safety skills to ensure swimmers can respond in real-life situations. These skills are practiced daily, even after they are mastered, so that the response becomes automatic:
Safety Skill 1: “What do you do if you fall in the pool?” Answer: “Turn and grab the wall.”
Safety Skill 2: “What do you do if you fall off a boat?” Answer: “Turn over and float.”

Consistent repetition of these skills helps swimmers react quickly and effectively in an emergency.

Completion Goals:
Swim 12 meters with arms out of the water
Demonstrate independent rollover breathing with one arm by the ear
Complete 12 meters of elementary backstroke

Please note that these are the final goals for the Beginner program. Progression through Beginner 1 and 2 focuses on building the skills needed to reach these outcomes before advancing to the Intermediate class.

Child Intermediate - Intermediate Level Class

This class is divided into two stages: Intermediate 1 and Intermediate 2. To complete Intermediate 1, your child must be able to swim 25 meters of freestyle using bilateral breathing, meaning they can comfortably breathe to both sides. From there, they will work toward swimming 25 meters of freestyle and 25 meters of backstroke, along with learning how to perform flip turns.

This level places a strong emphasis on drills and technique. Each drill is designed to isolate specific parts of your child’s stroke, allowing for focused improvement and better body awareness in the water. As swimmers progress, they begin to recognize and correct their own mistakes, which is a major milestone at this stage. Our goal is to develop consistent, efficient strokes across all skills.

Completion Goals:
25 meters freestyle with proper technique
25 meters competitive backstroke
Flip turns

Child Advanced - Advanced Level Class

This class is divided into two stages: Advanced 1 and Advanced 2. At the start of this level, swimmers will continue refining their freestyle and backstroke, with the initial goal of swimming both strokes proficiently for 50 meters. Swimmers will also be introduced to breaststroke, working toward completing 25 meters to advance into Advanced 2. In Advanced 2, they will begin learning butterfly as part of their continued progression.

This level emphasizes stamina, endurance, and technical consistency. While some drills may be familiar from Intermediate, the focus now is on maintaining proper form over longer distances. Swimmers are challenged to build strength and efficiency without sacrificing technique. As the highest level we offer, this class prepares swimmers for continued development beyond our program.

Upon completion, swimmers are well-positioned to transition into a competitive or non-competitive swim team, or to continue refining their skills through

private lessons.

Completion Goals:
50-meter individual medley
50 meters each of freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke
25 meters butterfly
Shallow-angle dives
